Gaga Trying So Hard...

Gaga’s Born This Way video was released today, as announced. And again, she tries to out do herself.

Summary of Video:

- She gives birth to good, then to evil
- She dances around in her underwear, touching herself sexually and carousing with others.

Yeah… that about wraps it up.

We’ve posted a ton of resources about Gaga and this song– I encourage you to check them out.

As for the video now? YouTube has it posted for all to see and the buzz is out. You can bet many of our kids will be watching this in the next few days.

Unbelievable..I seriously only watched the warped beginning followed by about 10 seconds of the techno music starting and I really can’t understand what draws kids to that. I’m not too far out of the loop still being fairly young myself and I understand how sex sells and even how being different can sell. But, what in the world? I saw her perform on some show (American Idol or Grammys or something) and thought she was a little odd. But, why wouldn’t someone with her influence on youth culture go one step further? I appreciate the updates on the stuff that my youth group is potentially watching/listening to.

I’ve got a question and wanted to see what everyone on here thought. In doing some research on the song and such (planning on talking about it at Youth Group on Sunday) there are some that are saying the lyrics “if you love him or capital H-I-M” are talking about God and Satan. With the first him being a reference to God, and the capital H-I-M to Satan/His-Infernal-Majesty. Any insight on this would be very much appreciated.

My favourite part is when she criticises the “religion of the insecure” by which I assume she means people who are not tolerant of her lifestyle choices…

But baby, they were born that way…

@ Josh: I took “if you love him or capital H-I-M” as if you love a person or Him (God), but who knows I could be naive. Of course, I did not agree with that either and I viewed it trying to put God’s stamp of approval on whatever she does. (Same old sin as the first, trying to pick our own right and wrong.) Maybe you could ask the youth what they think about it.
